The Case of the Black Paper

A detective/puzzle game about uncovering the truth through snapshots in time.

The Case of the Black Paper comes with an entirely unique story, with 4 cases + an epilogue to explore. This is a fan game based largely off of The Case of the Golden Idol.

In early development and playtesting phase. Please let me know if you run into any issues whatsoever, especially if you feel one of the cases is too difficult!

USING CHEATS

If something goes wrong, or you're just stuck, feel free to either contact me (@DasherDeer on Discord) or just cheat!

To use cheats, hold both Z and C simultaneously. Then, press another key corresponding to the action you want to take. Here are the possible actions:

• Enter/Return -> Go back to main menu
• P -> Skip the current case (will have to refresh case select screen after)
• W -> Get all words for free (only works in a case)
• S -> Save (careful, could be glitchy!)
• L -> Load (careful, could be glitchy!)
• R -> Wipe save data (This won't affect the current state of the game. If you accidentally press this one, don't worry! Save & Exit, and you'll be fine.)
